Telemessage’s “SMS to Landline” solution allows a user to type a short message in his mobile phone and send it to any fixed phone. A Text-to-Speech engine converts the text enabling the recipient to hear the message. The recipient can reply to the message through an IVR, which is then forwarded to the original sender’s mobile phone as a short message. The sender also receives delivery status notification..

The Telemessage solution is based on neutral spanish and can be optionally configured to include the operator’s branding. As an important feature it includes a SMS dictionary, making possible the translation to spoken language of those expressions commonly used when typing short messages (i.e. C U 2n8 = see you tonight). 

This “text-to-speech” functionality makes this solution the most efficient SMS to fixed application, as it saves the operator from massively changing user phones. Also, the user interface for the fixed recipient is totally intuitive making the incorporation of users to this not so common service much easier.
