Network Infrastructure

VDSL

ADSL has become a massive service for broadband clients. However, due to increasing user demands, in some cases, this service does not meet client’s capacity requirements. In cases where subscriber loops are not too long, operators are supplementing ADSL2 equipment with VDSL2 equipment (Very-High-Bit-Rate Digital Subscriber Line 2) which provides a broader band and a more reliable connection.

Planex represents leading VDSL market companies, with robust, mature, and proven technology that includes vectoring protocols that tap line signals to reduce noise level and enhance performance.

In addition, we provide street cabinets, that allow proximity of equipment to the subscriber’s residence as well as optimization of pre-existing copper cable.

Furthermore, we provide the following complimentary services: technical consultancy, design, training, equipment, installation, startup, and post sales technical support.

GPON / FTTH

User broadband demands grow day by day and duplícate each year. In this context, many operators are deploying fiber networks (FTTH) to subscriber’s homes to guarantee current and future availability demands.

As these projects need to grow and evolve according to customer demands, choosing the appropriate technology is the main challenge to guaranteeing future success, without obsolete technology, service limitations, or high operating costs.

Planex is a reference model of integration of FTTH equipment. Leading service providers of Tier2 segments, Cooperatives, CATV operators, ISPs and the Government consider Planex their leading integrator, due to our technological leadership as well as the experience of our certified engineers.

In addition to advising clients on the selection of the solution that best suits the profile of their users, we have a complete laboratory to perform tests and integrations, which allows us to dispel doubts regarding the capacity of the selected technology.

In addition, Planex provides turnkey solutions, installing and starting up services by highly trained and experienced personnel.

To deploy networks, we work with the most advanced technology such as: beamforming, and interference cancellation mechanisms among others, that provide the highest bandwidth available in noisy environments or with no line of sight on unlicensed bands. By using our own client terminals, which belong to the same cell system and Software administrator of the network, we attain quality guaranteed solutions for: video surveillance, broadband internet access, VoIP, and all types of applications.

MICROWAVE LINKS

Wireless links with greater capacity and higher bandwidth that can cover all deployment processes and technology supply: survey, feasibility study, setting a list of supplies, link estímate, pre-engineering task preparation, processing of permits with the local telecom regulators, supply of radio Hardware, etc., conforming to the needs of our valued customers.

LTE / FRONTHAUL

Exponential growth of mobile devices using mobile network infrastructure forces operators to redesign networks by way of moving the radio unit as far as possible from the core data network and use other networking technologies with greater transmission capacity between radio units. As a result, new 4G/LTE-Advanced networks introduce two solutions: backhaul and fronthaul.

Planex has products and expertise in implementing OTN carrier class transmission systems to satisfy traffic and quality of service demands of current and future 4G/LTE Advanced networks.

SOFTSWITCH

As voice network requirements increase, they challenge service providers to deploy scalable, flexible, reliable, high performance and cost efficient network solutions, with IMS architecture concepts.

Softswitch covers these new generation demands based on a collection of Software module components that provide distributed topology, geographic redundancy, load balancing in a single network architecture. The goal is to simplify communication with existing networks, whether they be legacy or new generation.

DWDM

DWDM allows reaching unimaginable data transmission capacity in comparison with other technologies (SDH/SONET, WDM). As of the latest developments in optical component design, (fiber optics, optical amplifiers, and optical multiplexers), currently it is possible to transmit 100 gbps through just one lambda. Considering that DWDM allows transfer of up to 128 lambdas through one optical fiber, this means a total transmission capacity of 12.8 bits per fiber.

DWDM technology allows transmission of several carriers on just one fiber, trasmitting different signals independently (SDH 2.5Gbps, 10Gbps, ATM, IP, etc.) This large transmission capacity, in addition to significant fiber resource savings and the possibility of covering great distances means significant cost savings.

SATELLITE NETWORKS

With more than 20 years of experience in Networks, Planex is a leader in the provision and deployment of Satellite Networks. The satellite solutions we offer cover the full range of services:

  • Massive broadband Internet access networks.
  • Enterprise Networks
  • Transport networks of cellular traffic.

A single platform, with an integrated central station for all services and different client terminals for each need, managed from a single platform. Scalable system, which allows – with the minimum investment – to grow both in capacity and in type of services in a modular way.

The same platform allows remote sites to be managed with statistically multiplexed traffic, with time and frequency multiplication access simultaneously, with maximum spectral efficiency and remote sites with dedicated SCPC type service.

It supports compact platforms of a single beam, as well as platforms of multiple Outbounds, and a complete management system suitable for virtual operators (VNO’s) to provide services with both Shared Hardware in the Teleport, and with dedicated Hardware.

  • Special applications: satellite connectivity in mobile units, train planes and ships.

Planex, together with the manufacturer, offer complete training programs, technical assistance, deployment assistance and assistance service in the operation of the Teleport, with continuous assistance to the operator to optimize its network and periodic maintenance visits.

CARRIER ETHERNET – MPLS

Various access solutions enable service providers to increase their income and reduce their total property costs by implementing Carrier Ethernet services based on SLA with a wide array of demarcation devices and aggregation platforms. These devices have MEF CE certification and work with a bundle of tools that provide implementation without intervention, traffic management, guarantee time over packet synchronization, TDM over packet, performance monitoring, fault management, and recovery capacity through fiber, TDM or DSL.

IP-MPLS solutions to tap bandwidth requirements, includes dedicated SLA for long distance data transmission. Planex provides platforms for implementation of MPLS tunnels. This broadens service variety offered by the business through Ethernet.

NFV

Operator networks are comprised of a large amount of proprietary hardware. When introducing a new service to the network, new equipment is usually required and compliance to energy and space requirements for installation is becoming more difficult to achieve. Furthermore, hardware-based equipment and systems have short lifespans, requiring constant design-integration-implementation cycles.

Networks Functions Virtualisation (NFV) aims to solve these problems, basing itself on virtualisation IT technology to consolidate multiple types of network equipment within standard network, storage, and server equipment.

Planex provides implementation and support services for NFV solutions to operators during the gradual introduction of this new technology.

MVNO

MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) refers to cellular telephone operators that do not have network infrastructure to provide Mobile Communications Service.

The MVNO operator rents some cellular network infrastructure capacity from operators that are licensed to operate and the necessary infrastructure, HMNO (Host Mobile Network Operator).
Within this scenario there are different MVNO business models:

  • The MVNO operator markets with its own brand mobile communications services depending on the licensee operator for the transport, switching and billing of the service. The MVNO only provides the SIM identified with your brand.
  • The MVNO operator has its own location records (HLR in GSM) or its own cell phone switching center (MSC). You could also have your own rate.
In this scenario, the MVNO is free to rent the network to any trained operator and even rent capabilities simultaneously to several operators. This type of MVNO is called complete.
  • MVNE (Mobile Virtual Network Enabler) refers to a commercial operator that offers idle cellular network infrastructure to any MVNO that demands the ability to operate.

Planex has more than 15 years of experience in the deployment of service platforms developed on cellular network infrastructure in the main mobile operators in Argentina and Latin America. Through its technological partners Planex adds a set of MVNO / MNVE solutions, maximizing the benefits of infrastructure investment and enhancing the growth and multiplicity of services and operators of the mobile network infrastructure.
